Lenny Dee ( New York U.S.A )

Producer / DJ / Label Owner / Magazine Singles Reviewer Lenny Dee is one of NYC’s earliest techno and house pioneers. He produced classic UK chart-hitting techno with Frankie Bones (as Looney Tunes), Victor Simonelli (for Nu Groove and Def Mix) and Tommy Musto – including their ‘Fallout’ track – now heard on the video game ‘Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’.

Early on, Lenny worked at Skyline Studios (at the time home of Nile Rodgers), and at Arthur Baker’s Shakedown Studio’s on productions for New order, Brooklyn Funk Essentials, and Al Jarreau among others. At the end of the ‘80s, he attacked Europe with the then new sound of Techno and in 1991 launched Industrial Strength Records, a label that’s included music from Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, Manu Le Malin, Cirilo, Zenith, John Selway, Daft Punk, Casper Pound, Unexist, DOA and many more.

Lenny has also written and produced hundreds of tracks on labels such as 4th floor, Warner Bros, Strictly Rhythm, R&S, Music Man, Atlantic Records, Arista, XL Recordings, Gigilo, A&M Records, Third Movement, ID &T and Stay Up Forever. As well as remixes for Atlantic Records, Sven Vath and chart topping hits in Holland and Italy – including projects with Italy’s superstar DJ Moella from RadioDeeJay FM.

Lenny’s first residency was at the local roller disco Roll-A-Palace in Brooklyn NY at the age of 17 and he has DJed all over the world at most of the biggest parties including MayDay, Love Parade, Woodstock, Tribal Gathering, Helter Skelter, Rezerection, Energy, Thunderdome, the Jane's Addiction Reunion Tour & the list goes on.

Lenny’s musical accomplishments range wide, having recently engineered 3 remixes on the Wu Tang Clan album Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture Vol. 2: Enter The Dubstep, a remix for Ali King’s new hit feat. Def Jam’s Fabolous and a soundtrack for a Runway Show at New York’s Fashion Week.

Its no wonder Lenny was named Number One ‘Hard DJ’ by Mixmag and has twice been awarded the accolade of Best Worldwide Techno DJ by the Scottish Dance Music Awards & Frontpage Magazine.



In the 90's Lenny Dee was twice awarded the accolade of 'Best Worldwide Techno DJ' by the Scottish Dance Music Awards. Frontpage Magazine heralded him as 'International DJ of the Year' and he has received wide spread coverage in other dance music publications like DJ Times, MixMag, Musik, and Mixer Magazine. He was recently featured in the Dutch DJ Broadcast Mag, UK’s Mixmag (as No 1 of the ‘Hardest DJ’s), Germany’s Groove and Raveline magazines and in XLR8R from the USA.

Lenny Dee DJs all around the world including all across the USA - from Australia through Western & Eastern Europe and as far as Russia, Japan and Sth. America. He has performed at most big events including to over million people at the Love Parade in Berlin, Techno Street Parades in Paris, Switzerland and Hamburg, Mayday in Germany, Tribal Gathering UK, Woodstock 2000 NYC, and the Jane’s Addiction Reunion Tour in NYC 1997.

Lenny Dee launched Industrial Strength Records in the U.S.A. in 1991with PCP’s ‘Mescalinium United’, becoming the first Hardcore Techno label in the world and one of the first Electronic Labels in the U.S.A. His label has featured artists such as Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, Daft Punk, The Mover, DJ Paul, Manu le Malin, Cirillo, Oliver Chesler and Nasenbluten among other ground breaking music that has pioneered the label for over a decade. Lenny is also the founder of 2 Music Publishing companies.

On a personal front Lenny’s productions have always been diverse from his signature Hardcore to working with Grammy Nominated COC, collaboration’s with Prodigy Co-Producer Neil McClellan, releases on Warner Bros, Strictly Rythmn, MOKUM Records , R&S Records, A&M Records, Gigilo, ID&T, Music Man, Rotterdam Records, Third Movement, remixes for Atlantic Records, Sven Vath as well as chart topping hits in Holland and Italy – including projects with Italy’s superstar DJ Moella from RadioDeeJay FM.

Lenny Dee's classic hit 'Morning After' under his pseudonym of 'Fallout' is also featured on the Sony Play Station's PS2 hit game Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas on Rockstar Games - which has sold over 60 million games to date and his conceptual project ‘ Extreme Terror’ also featured on the hit game DOOM by Williams Entertainment which was the biggest selling video game during the 90’s.

Lenny Dee has been collaborating on many projects including an album with DJ Radium - ‘Noise Brulee’ -released through Audiogenic (France) that features a music video for ‘Headbanger Boogie’– the 1st Hardcore Music Video to get national airplay in France. Other projects include his critically acclaimed Hard Techno Mix Hard Disc Version 1.0, and releases with  Neophtye, Manu Le Malin, Unexist & Tommykocker. His classic hit The Dreamer is out now

On the techno front, Lenny’s project ‘Tekno Killah’ with Randy & Neo Genesi will be out on IST early 2008 with a new video. He also has a number of releases with Chris Liberator & Darc Marc on the Liberator’s Underground labels ‘Maximum / Minimum’ & Cluster, 4x4 with Julian Liberator, RAW with The Geezer, Powertools with ANT, a remix of ‘Strong Bad’ on Slovenia’s Brian Damage Records and releases on France’s Gazole and Highway labels and UK’s Subvert.

Lenny Dee continues to be booked regularly for Hardcore and Techno gigs around the world and is producing music from Hardcore to Electro. Lenny will continue to bring pleasure to audiences worldwide by pushing back the barriers of Electronic Music
